Track Maintenance Manager

Description:

As a major rail contractor, my client is looking for a Track Maintenance Manager. The role will be based in Chile, working on a £41 million contract involved in the engineering design and installation of track work and conductor rails, along 33 km of double-tracked main line, plus two maintenance depots. The project success is depending on 2,500 people from 15 countries working 3.5 million hours.

If you are looking for a challenge then you may just have found it. The client has been contracted to carry out the engineering design, supply, construction, testing, commissioning and two years maintenance of this track.

As Track Maintenance Manager you will be responsible for the safe successful completion of the maintenance activities. The role will be responsible for:

- The recruitment and management of 100 people
- Meeting contract budget
- Dealing direct with the client
- Programming
- Client payment applications
- Monthly progress reports
- Monthly site access report
- Corrective defects report
- Plant tools machinery & vehicles
- Materials purchase
- Cost to complete
- Pricing small works
- Staff T&Cs
- Safety & Welfare
- Quality

You will need to have a background in rail and a good understanding of rail track engineering from Permanent Way design through to construction.

With a good founding in commercial awareness, previous exposure to managing and leading a team of people would be advantageous as well as the ability to communicate at all levels will be complemented but a degree or equivalent within Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
