Job Description

Strategic Buyer / Supply Chain Developer (with a manufacturing background and experience of purchasing mechanical components from overseas and within the UK) required close to the Portsmouth area. Your role will involve:

Long term planning and development of the supply base globally with focus on emerging markets and low cost sourcing
Develop and implement Supplier contracts and agreements
Develop tiered supplies programme
Network with the group companies supply chain development plans and personnel. Instigate best practice in long term supply chain management

You will ideally be someone who has the following:

3+ years of actual strategic buying / supplier chain development experience in an engineering environment
Good personal presentation
Have a good telephone manner
Be able to deal effectively with all manner of people and / or situations
Working knowledge of SAP R/3 will be an advantage
CIPs qualification (not essential)
